2014 Competitive and Fitness Level Wheelchair/Hand Cycle Division
The Turkey Trot is excited to offer a competitive and fitness level wheelchair division in this year’s event. This is a great way for the disabled community of the Tri-Cities to participate and enjoy the exercise/fitness and excitement of the Johnson City UP & AT ‘EM Turkey Trot. Come out to race or enjoy a fitness workout on the 3.1 mile course.
Hand Cycle Division
Push-rim Wheelchair or Day Chair Division
First and second place in each division
All participants must operate their equipment independently
Wheelchair/Hand Cycle Safety
Helmets are required for all competitors in both divisions
Chinstraps must be buckled at all times
No drafting
Maintain at least 2-3 bike/chair lengths between others
Stay as far to the right side of the lane as possible
Communicate your position to runners
Official bike escorts will start with the Wheelchair/Hand Cycle racers
Wheelchair Division will start 5 minutes before runners/walkers
