The S’mores Run presented by Publix

Saturday, November 2, 2024

Race begins at 4 p.m.

First wave of 100 participants will begin at 4 p.m. with the other waves beginning in 2 minute increments immediately following.  Our crew will assist with the waves and the start of each wave.  We encourage families and individuals with dogs or strollers to line up towards the back of the waves to ensure the safety of all participants.

WHERE

Start: Twentse Trail entrance in Johnson City (Legion St & Alabama St.)

Finish: On the trail near the former location of The Smokehouse BBQ restaurant (1941 Milligan Hwy)

The 3.5 mile course is set on the beautiful Tweetsie Trail in Johnson City, TN.  The entire course has a slight decline and is on a chat surface.  You don’t want to miss this amazing event.

PACKET PICKUP

Friday, November 1st from 4-7 p.m. at Cranky’s Pump & Pints (701 E. Maple St. next to Local Motion)

Saturday, November 2nd from 2-3:30 p.m. at Cranky’s Pump & Pints (701 E. Maple St. next to Local Motion)

Come enjoy the sites and sounds of the fall season with us. The S’Mores Run is a family-friendly event.  You can walk, run, skip or stroll but please no bicycles. Please note that there is a narrow trail and bridge to The Smokehouse BBQ Restaurant from the trail. We will have a shuttle for those that are unable to access the S’mores Extravaganza due to age or stroller.

Participants will receive a super cool t-shirt, door prizes, the ultimate S’Mores Extravaganza and other goodies.

The race will start at the trailhead in Johnson City with the finish at mile marker 3.5 so the run will be a little longer than the typical 5K race.  For your extra effort, we have marshmallows and chocolate waiting for you at the Smokehouse.  😉

This is a dog friendly event…
Canine participants are welcome and must be well socialized and on a leash. All dog owners are responsible to clean up after their dogs. Plastic bags will be available at check-in. We will have treats and water for your fur baby but no medals will given to animals.

Start Wave Information

In 2019, due to the increase in participants over the years, we have implemented a wave start. After a test run, we have some helpful information for you for this year. If you want to be with your family or friends, please coordinate which wave you would all like to be in. These are 100 person waves. When you register, you will be asked what wave you would like to be in according to your mile time. If you do not sign up in the same waves, please do not start in the same wave. For timing purposes, please start in the wave you registered for.

If you find that you are not in the same wave and would like to be, please contact us at info@thegoosechase.org

The Goose Chase has a no refund policy due to the pre-ordering of event shirts, medals, bibs, etc. We understand that emergencies or last minute schedule changes do occur, therefore, to better accommodate you, we have some other options instead.

  • You can have someone pick up your packet for you
  • You can transfer your entry to someone else
  • You can switch to the virtual option and turn in your virtual race time at a later time, and still receive the shirt and medal.
  • You can defer to the next year

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us at info@thegoosechase.org
