A virtual race is the opportunity for individuals and families to participate in an organized “event” with shirts and medals from anywhere. You can run, walk, stroll or skip a designated distance from the comfort or your own home or neighborhood…. anytime and anywhere, even indoors on a treadmill.
Simply register for one of our above virtual runs, complete the distance anytime and e-mail (info@thegoosechase.org) us proof of your results. We will mail or local pickup your finisher’s medal.
We accept results on the honor system so you can track your distance and time however you like. Simply notify us by email, text, private message on social media or smoke signals (kidding) that you have accomplished your goal. Also, you can e-mail (info@thegoosechase.org) us a photo of you, your watch/phone or simply tag us on social media #TheGooseChase #VirtualGoose. We would love see a photo of you on this journey.
The most accurate way to do this is by using a Running GPS watch. There are several free smartphone apps available for iPhones and Android devices that you may be interested in.

NO GPS? NO PROBLEM!
The average person takes between 2,000 and 2,500 walking steps per mile as counted by a pedometer, fitness band, or phone motion sensor. Running steps have a longer stride length and you may take between 1,000 and 2,000 steps per mile. 1 A total of 10,000 steps equals 4 to 5 miles. Simple use your Fitbit, Apple watch or similar device and track your steps. If you walk between 6,000-7,500 steps, you probably have met your goal. Great job!!!
Absolutely!!!! This is the perfect way to do alone or with your family. We encourage all ages and speed to participate.

Most participants complete their run/walk all at once, but we understand that not everyone is able to complete a certain distance in one outing. If you do decide to break these up into small distances, just keep track of your distance and time each outing. Then send us the total time and distance after you have completed your task.
Honestly, this is up to you. We are simply here to encourage you to move and get outside (if possible). Exercise is great for your body, mind and soul. 😉

YES!!!! What screams fun than dressing up???? Wear your best running attire (a.k.a. themed costumes) and send to us. We will post entries on our social media pages and the top likes/comments/shares will receive gift cards to local businesses to be used when things get back to normal.
