What is better than one birthday? Well, TWO, of course!
Join us Saturday, August 9th for a 1 mile race to celebrate Harry Potter’s birthday. For all you Potterheads, Harry and J.K. Rowling share the same birthday date. For The Goose Chase crew, that means we need a PARTY! We want the costumes, the butterbeer, the wands, the chocolate covered frogs, the glasses…all of it! Come dressed up in your best Harry Potter outfit and help us celebrate this double birthday!
We solemnly swear that you will have a blast at the Sorcerer’s Sprint. No matter which common room you call home, we’re bringing all houses together for this 1 mile race. Sport your house gear and meet up with the rest of us who seem to have lost our letter in the mail.
Packet Pickup: 4:30 – 6:45 p.m.
Costume Contest: 6:15 p.m.
Start time: 7 p.m.
Location: International Storytelling Center/Main St. in Jonesborough, TN
Registration information : Choose your house by your mile time!
Gryffindor(10 minute mile or less), Hufflepuff(10:01-12:00), Ravenclaw(12:02-15:00), Slytherin(15:01 or more)

Volunteers Needed!
We need several fun Potterheads to come help us bring a party!!! If you can’t participate in the race, please consider volunteering or sharing this if you know someone who could help or needs volunteer/community service hours. Reach out to us at info@thegoosechase.org
Join us in downtown Jonesborough as it is transformed into a world of wizardry. 
On July 27 we’re celebrating Harry Potter’s birthday! 
Jonesborough Area Merchants & Service Association (JAMSA) is hosting Downtown at Dusk: Wizardly World Edition. Due to the popularity of this event, JAMSA is offering two opportunities to participate. First session is 1-4 p.m. and the second one 5 – 8 p.m. Purchase a ticket to sample tastings of themed food and drinks at designated locations. Tickets are $35 (10 tickets and 5 alcoholic beverage tickets) or $20 for ten tickets. For tickets and full event details, visit jonesborough.com/wizard The event is expected to sell out, so we recommend pre-purchase of tickets.
You don’t need a ticket to experience the event! Expect street performers downtown, perhaps a quidditch match taking place, wizardly-inspired activities, and more.

Top 3 overall male & female, Top male & female grandmasters, Top male & female masters
Age groups (6 & under, 7-10, 11-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60 & older)
Best Harry Potter, Best Hagrid, Best Luna Lovegood & Best Group
For the costume contest, the first three categories listed above will have a kid (12 & under) and adult category as well. Each winner will receive a gift basket. This takes place Saturday, August 9 at 6:15 p.m. in front of the courthouse. Sign up in advance starting at 5 p.m. in the tent nest to the courthouse. The costume contest is free to enter.
