A timed Fun Run through King Commons Park and Founder’s Park to celebrate the Christmas season with the Downtown Johnson City Christmas trees to light the way! We hope this race turns into a family tradition for you and yours to enjoy each year.

Course Information

Course Directions

Please follow the course starting with green, then blue, then finishing with red.

Although we will have arrow signs, volunteers and police officers for you on the course, we also thought the following course breakdown would be helpful as well. Please familiarize yourself with the course prior to the event.

The Start/Finish is located at King Commons Park, specifically where the ‘JC’ is located on the ground on King St. (near the new playground). The race starts by running straight across N. Roan St on King St. At the end, turn left onto Elm St. then right onto Fairview Ave. Turn left onto New St. then left onto Myrtle Ave. Turn left onto Oak St then right onto Fairview Ave. Turn left onto Welbourne St then right onto Milliard St. Turn left onto Boone St then left onto King St. Enter into King Commons and exit right onto Commerce St. Stay straight to the Great Lawn entrance of Founders Park. Enter onto the sidewalks, cross the bridge, circle back around to the entrance and exit right back onto Commerce St. Stay straight until a left turn at Renasant Bank parking lot then left turn on King St. to the finish line.

Jingle Virtual 5k Option

You can’t make it to the Jingle 5k but want to participate??? The Virtual option is perfect for you.

How does “virtual” work? Participants can do their 5k on their own at home, on the treadmill, at the park or around the neighborhood. Once you have completed your 5k, take a photo or screenshot of your device (iPhone, Garmin, Strava account, etc..) and email us at info@thegoosechase.org. We will get it posted to our results page.

How do you get your merchandise? You can pick it up during our normal packet pickup or we can mail it to you. We do charge a $9.95 shipping and handling fee. If you choose this option, let us know at info@thegoosechase.org and we will send you shipping and handling information. If you live in or near Johnson City, we can make arrangements for a local pickup but please e-mail us to let us know.

Kid’s Race (9 & Under): $20 Now – Dec. , $25 Race Day

Are you wondering what race to enter? Let us help you…

Kid’s Race (6-9) – Due to the participant’s ages of this race, this will be a shorter distance than a mile.

Fun Run – All ages and ability levels welcome.

Virtual Option – We know many want to keep socially distant or have schedule conflicts, the virtual option is for you. Just email us your time and we will make arrangements for your shirt pickup.

Hand Cycles – We would love to offer this option. However, with this course, the narrow walkways and speed bumps on the trails due to the tree lighting, we are unable to offer this option as this time.
